About Alycia Owen

“Teaching overseas presents many opportunities to grow professionally, and I’ve enjoyed the chance to present at some of the world’s top international teaching conferences.”

Alycia has been an educator since 1987 and has taught in California, Pakistan, the Philippines, Venezuela, and China.

Teaching, mentoring, coordinating programs, and providing professional development for over 30 years.

Alycia holds an MEd in Educational Administration and a BA in Human Development from University of California, Riverside. She is passionate about helping students and educators become lifelong learners.

“My earliest memory of being a teacher is when I was about 4 years old, setting up my cardboard desk on the front porch, with stuffed animals, dolls, and sometimes real people, as my students. In the pretend worlds that children occupy, I often found myself creating a classroom and have always been fascinated by this thing called school. So much goes on in there and—at its best—school has the potential to change lives and make the world a better place.”

Originally from California, she now lives with her husband in New Mexico, where they are working together toward establishing an environmentally sustainable home. They are the proud parents of two adult third-culture kids (TCKs).
